What are we looking for in our R&D Specialist? Our client, a leading bath product retailer, is looking for a talented R&D Lab Specialist to join their QA/QC team in Columbus, OH! Pay:
$22-28/hr, depending on experience Contract Duration:
(3-month contract) ON-SITE:
8885 Smiths Mill Road, New Albany, OH 43054 Health, vision, & dental benefits available after 60 days of employment, beginning the following month, 401k Eligible Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
At this time, our program is not eligible for the STEM OPT visa extension.
R&D Lab Specialist Overview:
Purpose:
Perform standardized product and packaging testing in development of consumer packaging.
Use test methods based on industry standards to assure quality, compliance and satisfaction of brand product goals.
Scope:
Manage all commercialization testing for relative brand(s) and communicate results to various cross functional partners while meeting established timelines to ensure a successful product launch.
Responsibility includes testing for product stability, compatibility, and packaging.
Desired Outcomes:
Rigorous evaluation of every consumer product and package to ensure functionality, performance, and usage.
Maintenance of SAP PLM and data systems Assure all PDR / packaging requests are placed on test.
Build external vendor relationships as well as internal cross functional relationships
Responsibilities:
Responsible for tracking incoming samples for all necessary commercialization testing.
Insures correctness of samples as per packaging test plan or PDR.
Reviews test request to insure all pertinent information is present.
Sets up and places samples on test and pulls for review on the appropriate schedule.
Performs indicated tests for stability, compatibility, and package testing on various product forms.
Works with approved vendors to track and manage external stability testing by identifying, communicating, and resolving OOS conditions.
Tracks and reports results for both commercialized and non-commercialized projects.
Manage and maintain all project tracking tools (test orders, OOS, etc.
) and input results into database system.
Perform testing priorities as indicated by timelines, such as compatibility, transit, product resistance, etc.
and insure testing is completed in a timely manner according to test plans.
Maintain SOP and test method procedures.
Communicate out of specification test results in a timely manner.
Participate in commercialization meetings and manage cross functional relationships by effectively communicating testing status.
Assist complaint investigations and resolutions as pertaining to package components.
Qualifications:

years testing laboratory experience preferably in related industry.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to timelines.
Strong organizational and communication skills to ensure all relative responsibilities are addressed and maintained according to established timelines.
Proficiency in PC Skills in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, and Power Point.
