Based on education and experience, this opportunity will be filled at either of these job titles/classifications in the Transmission Project Data Analyst job family:
TPDA Principal = bachelor's degree + 6 years
TPDA Sr. = bachelor's degree + 4 years
Position Summary: Assure data accuracy, consistency and integrity within the Transmission Project Management Systems. Provide data analytics expertise to assure execution of Quality Planning, Quality Assurance and Quality Control within AEP Transmission Project Management. This position is responsible for working on data analysis projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data, performs analysis, interprets results, and develops actionable insights and recommendations for use across AEP Transmission Project Management. This includes data mining, data auditing, aggregation, validation, reconciliation, and visualization.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Provide framework for enforcing data integrity rules during data entry.
2. Provide data variance reports to determine anomalies.
3. Working with IT Support, provide framework for updating data for data correction activities.
4. Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
5. Identify quality improvement measures and work with management to implement.
6. Work with project teams to put structure in place to monitor quality of process, documentation, scope adherence, etc., and to control influences that seek to change it.
7. Perform quality audits to determine if project activities comply with organizational and project specific policies, process and procedures.
8. Monitor macro and micro performance metrics to measure process/productivity improvement effectiveness.
9. Provide an objective view to ensure the metrics are driving correct behavior across the broader organization.
10. Provide on-going continuous improvement support and training as required.
11. Collaborate with schedule and cost governance lead within the QA/QC department to ensure that cost and schedule processes are aligned.
12. Provide status reports to Project Support Manager.
13. Facilitate the cultural desire within the organization to share and adopt best practices across AEP Transmission.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree in mathematics, operations research, applied statistics, economics, data science or a related quantitative discipline.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience with a demonstrated knowledge of analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, SPSS and others to perform analysis and interpret data is attained.
Clear understanding of typical Project Control methods and procedures consistent with Project Management Institute?s Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies preferred.
Experience with EcoSys/P6 preferred.
Licenses/Certifications :
Project Management Institute?s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE certification preferred
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification preferred.
Additional Information: 10-15% Travel as needed to support AEP Transmissions regions.
? Must be knowledgeable in data analytic techniques and the demonstrated ability to apply these techniques.
? Effective and compelling communication, including the use of effective listening, with all stakeholders including team members, sponsors, management and senior management.
? Expertise with database concepts and practices.
? Ability to apply strong analytical and complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
? Provide reports and other information to the Regional Project Management Directors so that corrective measures can be put in place.
? Provide training support as needed for Project Management as well as other departments impacted by EcoSys & P6 to ensure data integrity.
