IT Architect Senior - IT Architect Lead

Job Description This position is posted in a range from  an IT Architect Senior to an IT Architect Lead. Note: Education and/or relevant experience will be used to determine the appropriate salary and salary grade level. Position Summary:  Working independently, the IT Architect Senior. manages large scale assignments of high risk. The IT Architect Senior. will connect the IT technology strategy to the business unit strategy to produce a long-term combined view and ensure project alignment with other projects.  Responsibilities include gathering, investigating and analyzing user requirements for business processes and/or technical systems; conceptual design of implementation strategies on assigned projects; preparation of resource estimates, evaluations and recommendations; and develop and maintain necessary documentation of systems, projects and/or processes to ensure understanding of system details. The IT Architect Sr enables and promotes technology and team level continuous improvement activities that increase the quality and value of product delivery.  This position requires advanced communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.  Also required is an excellent mixture of technical and business skills. Principal Accountabilities:  1.  Examine and evaluate current business processes and tasks, and develops ideas for improvement. 2.  Convert knowledge and ideas into better ways of doing business or into new or improved products and services. 3.  Participate in review, evaluation, and recommendation of new technologies. 4.  Formulate actions and processes to support the defined goals and objectives of the business unit and organization. 5.  Review and approve technology artifacts planned to ensure that the product or services produced are according to specifications, and that they are sufficiently sustainable. 6.  Ensures alignment to AEP's supported technology stack with all provided solution. 7.  Assist with the preparation of resource estimates, evaluations, and recommendations. 8.  Identify, control and manage the impact of uncertain harmful technology events on the project and the project deliverables. 9.  Use diagrams to help discover, communicate and understand the problem being solved and develop the software solution. 10.  Use patterns as a fundamental structural organization schema for software systems. 11.  Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy. 12.  Understand and support the policies, values, principles, structure and behavior of AEP. 13.  Promote continuous improvement within the project team. Job Type Full-Time Relocation No Minimum Requirements IT Architect Senior: Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or Associates Degree in Computer Science with 2 years of Architecture related experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years Architecture related experience. Experience: Typically 9 or more years of Architecture or related experience (in addition to any experience identified above) IT Architect Lead: Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or Associates Degree in Computer Science with 2 years of Architecture related experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years Architecture related experience. Experience: Typically 12 or more years of Architecture or related experience (in addition to any experience identified above) Requirements- Other:   Licenses/Certifications: Certification in technology relevant to position preferred Knowledge of transmission and/or utility industry is a plus. 20115BR
