Director of Operations Finance

Responsible for leading the activities of the Operations Finance team supporting manufacturing operations, cost accounting, fixed assets, transportation and logistics. Manage finance and accounting activities and provide functional excellence in financialreporting, financial analysis, financial planning, cost modeling, process improvement, internal controls and talent development. Partner with peer at sister company, Michael Foods, to provide consistency in reporting for the Integrated Supply Chain. Serve as a strategic advisor for the VP Manufacturing Operations and SVP Supply Chain as well as have significant interaction with the broader Operations and Supply Chain organizations. This role will be highly visible in the organization and will be a key influencer in helping the company achieve its long-term goals. Accountabilities: Provide financial leadership and decision support for manufacturing operations and supply chain. Proactively communicate issues and opportunities. Provide explanations for variances from expected results, identify trends and provide actionable reporting and analysis of plant performance. Includes the creation and delivery of enhanced management reports, key performance indicators and dashboards that allow management to better understand operating results, identify risks and opportunities and make informed decisions. Oversee the cost accounting function and ensure that cost updates are performed timely and all SOX and GAAP requirements are met. Support product life cycle management and product innovation by providing cost modeling and accurate product costing. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, accounting standards and procedures. Assure accurate and timely month-end close and reporting. Manage an organization of 9 professionals including 3 direct reports, establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, effectively coach/counsel employees, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities and conduct annual performance appraisals. Provide financialsupport for the development, implementation, tracking and reporting of continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure return on investment (ROI) / financial assessment of capital projects prior to their submission for approval and evaluate on an on-going basis. Partner with the procurement team to evaluate and communicate input cost changes and assess risk/opportunity to expected results. Support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), forecast and strategic planning process to ensure alignment to support targeted growth and business objectives. Provide financialsupport for special projects. Requirements: Thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles. An understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain, preferably in process manufacturing. Ability to lead and motivate teams. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to interact effectively with all levels within the organization. A strong team player across a multi-functional organization. Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and proactively resolve issues. Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines. Experience identifying risks and ensuring internal controls. Excellent technology skills including ERP experience, Oracle preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance CPA or CMA certification preferred Minimum 8 year's experience in operations finance preferably in a process manufacturing environment with previous roles of increasing responsibility. Experience should include strong competency in cost accounting and experience the areas of fixed assets, transportation and logistics. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
