Position Description The Health Mart Atlas Operations department is currently in need of a flexible and detail oriented Accounting Analyst to work as part of the finance team.  This role primarily will be responsible for assisting in the quick resolution of high priority customer issues.  The successful candidate with have the opportunity to work with a collective team on a variety of subject matters within the Operations Department.   Key Responsibilities The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the timely resolution of customer research tickets.   These tickets, often initiated directly by Health Mart Atlas customers, exist because of questions and/or concerns related to daily payments made by Health Mart Atlas from PBMs participating in the central payment program. The resolution of these tickets will require extensive analysis of internal customer data sets, using tools such as SQL/PLSQL and Excel, along with effective communication with our external PBM partners.  Manage the current business process established to monitor the collection of Direct and Indirect Remuneration fees processed through the Health Mart Atlas central payment program and partner with other internal teams to continue to enhance the methods of minimizing financial risk to our customers.  The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for reporting claim level details associated with Direct and Indirect Remuneration fees via the Health Mart Atlas proprietary payment system Assist the Director of Operations with tasks related to the month end close process including the preparation and review of journal entries, the preparation and review of monthly tax schedules, and the completion of the month end balance process The Accounting Analyst will be fully cross-trained in multiple time sensitive day to day tasks to serve as the primary back-up for our other Operation Analysts.  These additional tasks include (1) processing 835 electronic remittance data files Health Mart Atlas receives from PBM partners into a proprietary payment system for processing of daily ACH payments to Health Mart Atlas pharmacies and (2) processing the daily Health Mart Atlas ACH payment and weekly check run. The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the timely completion of ad hoc reporting requests using SQL to provide critical information to our customers as related to PBM remittance payments. The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the execution of projects initiated to help drive continuous improvement within the Operations Department. Qualifications Minimum Requirements 5+ years accounting experience Critical Skills Experience in accounting, finance, finance analytics or similar experience Advanced MS Excel Proficiency (v-look ups, pivot table, functions, data manipulation, etc.) Strong SQL Query Proficiency.  Fundamental accounting methodologies and practices experience. Strong analytical skills researching issues, analyze data anomalies and root cause. Additional Knowledge & Skills Customer-oriented with strong ability for trouble-shooting and issue resolution Knowledge of managed care, from a retail pharmacy or PBM perspective, a plus Must be flexible and thrive in a fast pace environment with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously Education 4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience 18008814

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
